    Can't find cgi-bin URL...

Doing a website on behalf of a friend, and I'm having some issues.

    Who is your host? UkWebHosting
Is it unix or windows hosting? Unix (Ibelieve)
Is the permission on the cgi-bin set to 755? (Yes)
Is the permission on the acatalog folder set to 777? (yes)
Is this your first upload? Has it worked in the past? (First Upload)
Have you compacted the database in the housekeeping menu? (No)
Have you changed the cgi number in network setup and tried to reupload? (Wont get that far)
Have you run the network wizard? what was the result? (Cant find cgi-bin URL)

Running the network setup I get this message:

    http://i46.tinypic.com/345y2he.png

Actinic can see the server, and I can point Actinic to the CGI-BIn. But when trying CGI-BIN guesses the URL I enter to the CGI-BIN can not be found, even though it is correct.

    Any ideas?

Export your network settings, remove the passwords and post them here and let's see what you have first.

No worries, will do this as soon as I get back home this evening! Knew I shouldn't have started an upload on a sunday evening!

Just checked on my other sites I’ve done for people, and I noticed the acatalog directory is 755, not 777. Wonder if that's the problem, even though everyone says it should be 777?

On most servers it should work with a minumum of 755, so 777 should work as well.

Hmm, didnt think it would change things.

Will do the export as soon as I can, still doesnt make sense as to why it cant find the cgi-bin through the URL.

Sucks to be you. Do you have anything worth while writing in this thread? If not, don't bother please.

Since you changed two things as a result of that post, I'm guessing that counts as "worth while" [sic].
