    Language Support

    I am considering this software for several sites running Traditional Chinese type fonts, but am having a hard time with the text pasted in as "???? ????? ????." I know the texts should have been pasted as "control characters."

    Is there a setting that I should have changed? Or does Actinic not support other type fonts?

    TIA,

    Edward

    If you're talking about text in the Product Descriptions then you can include special characters and other HTML by enclosing them in !!< and >!!.

      Thank you.

      The only thing is that "when I am pasting into the fields, they don't show up as special characters.

      For example: ?ë?¹™ð“I‰J–éŠX“ª pastes into "????????"

      !!< ???????? >!! shows up as "????????"

      Thanks again.

        Am I out of luck with Actinic for my sites?

        Can anybody recommend a similar software out there that would fulfill my needs?

        TIA again!

          What happens when you paste your text into this minimal page?

          <html>
          <head>
          <title>Test</title>
          <body>
          paste text in here
          </body>
          </html>

          Save that as a file an view it. It may be thhat you need extra declarations that indicate the language and charset you are using. Once you can make the above work let us know how then it may be possible to add that to Act_Primary.html that defines your main layout.

            Thanks Norman for all your help.

            As it turned out, it was my local computer configuration error. I had to change "Language version of the non-Unicode programs" setting to "English (United States)" when I was installing the demo, but I forgot to change it back to "Traditional Chinese."

            Reading your posts made me realize that html is, quite simply, html. If my system is not copying and pasting correctly, it must be my local setting affecting the operation.

            Thanks again for leading me in the right directions!

            My testing of Actinic continues....
