We have imported our product list from Quickbooks and into Actinic. The short description in Actinic has been populated from the description field in quickbooks. This description field in quickbooks is what appears in our purchase orders and is not always what we want to appear on the website. Question: If I change the short description in Actinic, when we go in the future to update quickbooks will it then change the description in quickbooks? Or are the 2 fields only linked when you load new products? Is there a place I can see which fields relate in quikbooks and actinic? Obvoiusly in Actininc link you choose some but it would be nice to see all of them.

"Short Description" field and link to Quickbooks

It is the Product Reference field that is the key unique link between QuickBooks and Actinic, rather than the Short Description. Certainly it is the product reference that is used by Actinic Link when decreasing stock levels in QuickBooks.
From the sounds of what you are writing, you are a US customer using the two-way link between Actinic and QuickBooks. It's been a while since I looked at the US QuickBooks link, but I think there are options called 'Transfer new products' and 'Update inventory levels only' within the 'Products' tab - either one of which should leave your custom short descriptions alone in Actinic.
