    Still setting up...

I e-mailed our hosting company with the nice little list of requirements needed to run Actinic, and they responded with the following:

    c) Is the CGI script directory for my site shared with anyone else?

The server has a cg-bin directory where we have installed the scripts that we support. The user does not have read/write access to this directory. However, the webserver does have read access to this directory and can execute the scripts we have placed there. The user has access to a cgi-local directory where he can place whatever scripts he wishes.

Hate to sound dumb, which I am when it comes to web development, but what exactly does it mean? Does this mean they can support the software or not?

    Please please please help! TIA!

What they're saying is that there's a lbunch of pre-installed scripts that you can run, but not change, and that you have a local directory where you can place your own cgi scripts (for catalog etc).

this is standard and shouldn't be a problem for catalog.
