    Bounced SSL

Help required for 1st time V6 user.

Am ready to go live and have received clearance from my chosen payment provider Worldpay that all is well and i can switch to production mode.

However...when clicking on the checkout basket the site switches to https: but doesn't go through to Worldpay, instead i get the following link:

    http://www.(xxx).co.uk/cgi-bin/ca000001.pl?ACTION=SSLBOUNCE&URL=https%3a%2f%2fwww%2e(xxx)%2eco%2euk%2fcgi%2dbin%2fos000001%2epl%3fACTION%3dStart

Where (xxx) replaces the name of the site!

My hosting company is Virtual internet, and i think i have followed all the instructions so far to the letter

    Can anyone help please?

    thanks

    Hi there

You will only get bounced to Worldpay when its time to enter your credit card details. So when you bounce to SSL, you will enter your address details on your own site.

Thanks for this Nadeem but you've rather lost me on how to solve this - i'm talking about when i'm a user of the site and click on the checkout button, instead of going through to worldpay from my URL it just gets stuck at the URL below and i can't input anything, just after 30 seconds or so i get an error message. basically it means that while customers can browse the site, i can't take any monies which is clearly a bit frustrating?

any solutions on how to solve would be most gratefully received
      thanks

        Hi Nifty,

Hmm.. it looks like your server is timing out, when it going to the checkout stages. That why you are experiencing

it just gets stuck at the URL below and i can't input anything, just after 30 seconds or so i get an error message
Actinic needs 16 megs allocation for perlscripts on the server side to execute correctly. Please could you tell your hosting company this. You might want to give them this address

        http://www.actinic.co.uk/hosting/

This is a guide on how what Actinic needs with servers

Just to clarify, are you intending to have the Actinic checkout under SSL?

The way the store works is that you enter the checkout and enter your name, address and shipping information. It is only when you are ready to make payment that you are taken to Worldpay.

Try unticking 'SSL On' in 'Business Settings | Payment and Security' and upload. Is the store working as you need it to? If so, then don't worry about having the Actinic checkout running under SSL.

            Nadeem

QUestion for you - i've been going over my settings, and just had one query for you.

WHen in Advanced set-up, should my SSL settings mirror exactly my Standard settings, with the sole addition of https: rather than http: ???

I'm just wondering whether this may be the reason i have problems?

I've asked Virtual as you suggest, but yet to receive an answer so just trying to work through every part of the problem!

            many thanks

              Chris/Nadeem

Panic over! things appear to be working OK now.

Chris - many thanks for your comments which i'd somehow missed earlier. I'm not using Actinic SSL but had this option ticked on within payment settings.

Unticking this has allowed the user to go through and input data and all appears to be well...I hope

              thanks again
