Hi,
Apologies if this seems like i am going over old ground - i have tried going through the past threads relating to this subject and am confused.
We have a web-site which is running on-line fine. I can receive orders and send response e-mails without any problem and the automated mail on ordering also runs without a hitch.
However, i recently had trouble uploading my site and apparently something like 14 scripts were missing although all of the pages seemed to go up OK. As a result the upload left all the web pages but no logging in, searching or cart functionality.
I then asked our web designer to reload the site from their end and it went up fine.
We have now tried running a test under Advanced>>Network Setup
The result is as follows:
The computer you specified as your mail server is not a valid mail (SMTP) server. Check the computer name or address and try again.
Mail server messages:
220 mail.scl.co.uk ESMTP Sendmail 8.12.10/8.12.10; Sat, 6 Mar 2004 11:03:24 GMT
Failed 1 - Response: 220 mail.scl.co.uk ESMTP Sendmail 8.12.10/8.12.10; Sat, 6 Mar 2004 11:03:24 GMT
These are my settings:

Is there any way that one of these could have somehow got changed between being installed as an ACD file and trying to upload?
From the threads i have followed so far, it sounds as though there is a problem with SMTP at SCL but if this is the case then howcome the site is running fine after an upload from a different location.
In case it helps, host is SCL and I have tried running the test both at work (on a btconnect account) and from home (on a pipex account).
Any help would be brilliant as we want to upload changes on quite a regular basis at the moment and we don't want to keep going back to our designer.
Thanks in advance
Andy
