3 for the price of 1 with options

Hi, we have catalog, we are trying to input 3 for the price of 1 in our sales section...

    THE DEAL
We have a suede cushion in 3 colours, tan, brown and cream. all £24.99 if you buy 3 (any colour combo) you get them all for £49.98

So for example the customer chooses 2 cream and 1 brown...

I have read pretty much every posting about quantity dependant pricing but seem to be missing the real answer to our quandry...

    Cheers...

The way you would do this is simply to create a product with attributes and choices for colour (with no components).

Set the basic price of the product as '£24.99' and then switch to the 'Prices' tab. Add a row to the grid by clicking the '+'. In the 'Min' field add '3' and in the 'Price' field enter '£16.66'.

THe one thing about this is that customers will have to add the product to their cart maybe two or three times (with different colours each time) to achieve the different pricing.

Sorry if Im being thick but where is the 'prices' tab?

If I go to properties and click the + symbol it says I have no custom properties set up? Is this the + you mean?

Whoops - I did not see you are using 'Catalog' rather than 'Business'. My apologies.

What you need to do is...

        1) Create a product called 'Cushion'

        2) Create a component within it called 'Selection'.

        3) Create three attributes within 'Selection' called 'Number of Tan', 'Number of Brown' and 'Number of Cream'.

        4) Create four choices within each attribute called '0', '1', '2' and '3'.

        5) Go into the 'Selection' component, switch to the 'Permutations' tab and click 'Fill List'.

        6) Enter the correct price for each combination of quantities into the 'Price' fields in the grid.

Well that works of a fashion...but leaves the product with lots of confusing options. Is there no way to tell actinic if the customer chooses 'Quantity 3' then charge £49.98?

I suppose i could have a seperate product line?

Yes, this is a standard feature of Actinic Business.

Blimey! can't justify spending another £450 for that function!

I'll have to have a rethink!
