    Apache and IIS conflicts

    Hi there,

I am using Windows XP pro (with IIS already installed) and have followed the Actinic advanced user guide for installing apache, ftp and ActivePerl. I am suffering a conflict as IIS is my localhost and i believe uses the same port as Apache.

Can anyone offer me assistance, I have followed the guide word for word and I am still struggling badly!!

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Neil

    Hi Neil.

Yes, I have had that too! If you wish to suspend It, go to control panel | administrative tools | Internet Services Manager. The IIS MMC will then appear. You can stop the webiste by right clicking on it in the left hand pane and select stop. You can stop the FTP site in the same way.

    Hope this helps.

      Hi Darren,

      Thanks for the reply.

It wasn't quite as simple as that (unfortunately) and I had to search around a bit on google but I found this page that helped me a great deal.

not sure how to show url as link!

I suspect a lot of new users would be using WinXp, therefore it may be worth updating the description in the Advanced Users Guide as I was really confused!!!

Thanks again, I'm off to get started on my new site!

      Neil
