    Sipping question

A client has just "simplified" his shipping as follows: £5 within the BH postcode area and £10 for the rest of the UK. How do I set this up in Catalog 5? Is it even possible?

    TIA

    Shipping

This cannot be done in Actinic as a standard feature the way you may want it to, conversely the solution below should allow you to achieve 80% of what you have requested.

This can be done by creating the postcode BH as a country under Advance | Locations by clicking on the '+' on the left corner of the table.

If you then goto View | Business settings | Tax, locate 'Tax by locations' select the UK tax zone click on the edit button and then add the BH postcode as a zone member selecting it from the 'available region' and apply the changes.

Finally if you then goto the Shipping and Handling tab using the appropriate calculation basis and locate shipping bands select 'By zone' radio button right click on the white space goto 'New zone' select BH postcode created then right click on 'BH postcode select a class then set the table up accordingly.

Thanks for the suggestion, Menar. However, as the client's customers are all trade, all the products are ex-VAT... before I change the settings, will this still work with ex-VAT prices?

Yes, this should work fine with your ex-VAT prices.

Thanks, Chris. However, just before you posted, I found a simpler way...

Set 'Calculation basis' to 'Total value'.
In zone, e.g. 'Local Area: BH postcode', set Value to £50 and Cost to £5.
Select 'Take the highest value in the table'.
Do the same for the other zone, 'Mainland UK', with Value and Cost set to £100 and £10 respectively.

This now allows either zone to be selected in the checkout droplist, and applies shipping of £10 or £5, regardless of order value.

Thanks to you and Menar for trying to help, though
