webyourbusiness, looks as legite as you can get on ebay to me. Just no feedback score might be a concern.
The difference between this and the last one was that the last wasn't offering a package, it was just telling you to download this and that then they'd give you an activation key, v.suspicious.
The reason I was looking was for a customer who was looking for a cheap way of buying a catalog version which I'm happy to say he did and there was no problem with it or the seller.
And because I have a version of Actinic Business I was given by a customer who didn't need it. I was looking to see how much I might get for it, as I already have a developer version.
it was the zero feedback that worries me... but that's definitely a world apart from a download with key...
fwiw - used Actinic's aren't supported - at least here in the USA... although I'm not able to speak on the policy in the UK.. I'm sure an Actinic person can clarify though!

its the same here, the only way to get it made legit is to contact Actinic with the key to find out if they will relicense it
I thought so - but honestly, when I left the UK to move to the USA, I wasn't actually in the situation of having *ANY* 2nd hand Actinic licenses - actually, we didn't have ANY sites that we developed that weren't still using their software. Since then, we've all seen a LOT of e-commerce ventures come and go - 2nd hand software isn't actually that uncommon, and there is a thriving marketing licenses, especially here in the USA - for instance the last lot of PCs we bought from a dot-bomb cost us less than the new cost of the windows XP pro licenses we got transferred as a function of buying the machines. Would we have bought the machines without the XP licenses - probably - but getting legit OS licenses to boot was a MAJOR decision point... can we do the same with Actinic - no... NOD32 AV... no... adobe - sometimes - other M$ - sometimes...
Just noticed searches in my site logs for "Actinic v7 key crack"
I was told (by Actinic) that the Actinic servers took an impression of the key upon first upload, thereby registering the key to a specific domain / ISP. This would surely make a cracked copy unworkable.
I can't actually remember on first upload if Actinic asked for my permission to connect to their servers... unless it was part of the lengthy Terms & Conditions I readily accepted to upon installing?

At the end of the day it's simple. Unless you know it hasn't been used don't use it as there is always the risk it's illegal. If your willing to take the risk for a cheap version then expect the worst when you do try and register it with Actinic or use it across your site.
The other option is to insist you won't buy it unless Actinc relicense the copy to your name and check it out with Actinic before you buy. If someone is genuine and expects you to part with a fare amount of cash I'm sure they would find this exceptable. Surely there's no harm in the seller doing this as if the sale doesn't go through they could just contact actinic again.
I sold another e-store in a box software package on ebay which I bought for about £400, I asked the company to remove my name on the licence and they did, the buy who bought relicenced it under his name no probs - I just forwarded my e-mail to him.
As long as I had something in writing from the company which I could confirm I wouldn't worry about buying it. I checked Ebay first for Actinic Business before I ended up buying it.
