    I would suggest you just value the time spent and base it on a proportion of that.

    Include things like time to source suppliers and SEO work

    Value of software at todays price i.e. depreciated from purchase price

    Comments above on style and content, but at the end of the day its what the punters want not always what the designers think is best, that either makes or breaks a site. Many high powered and expensive sites have failed to win orders whilst other simple solutions have made a fortune.

    Simple, Plain or simular to 100000 other sites is not a problem for most customers, they are looking at Perceived value, avalability and service and whilst design helps in this choice it is not the be all and end all

    In the real world Turnover growth and profit must be the biggest items to base sale price on
