Stick with the blue, but may I say that IMHO, 'Web 2.0' in this context tends to be bright as well as fresh & modern i.e. 'glossy'.

The logo could do with having a bit more contrast so that it 'lifts' off the page and has more 'glow' about it.

Or perhaps leave the left hand side as it is (subdued, for the regulars) but give this lift and brightness to the KB to draw attention to it.

I wasn't proposing the pink be installed merely to point out there was no coherent branding between the forum and the main website .. however.. Chris has pointed out this is not being viewed as part of the Actinic HQ support hence the different colour.
