All attempts to "alleviate" my situation have so far failed.. resilient old bugger she is. I am next going to try Gabe's "suicide" proposal but not sure I can get a bungee strong enough to take her weight

did you watch Clarkson lately on his trip to the north pole ?, they had a bungee cord that was strong enough to pull a 4x4 out of pack ice, so they do do bungee ropes strong enough.
