    Bt Adsl

OK. I have BT ADSL and been a loyal customer for 5 or 6 years (probably more).

I'm now getting BT calling me up asking me if I'd like to renew my 12 month contract at the new lower price of £24.99/month (£2 cheaper than I'm currently paying). I've had some emails too but haven't bothered following up as it's no big deal, really.

In yesterday's call, I told the guy I'd have another look at the emails and think about it. His response was "OK, well how about if I offer you a free wireless colour printer worth £60 as well. Would that make you more interested?." Being the cynic that I am my immediate thoughts are "So why are you so keen for me to sign a new contract? it sounds desperate to me."

So what's going on? Are BT losing so many customers to SKY, talk-talk, etc that they're desperate to get customers to take out a new 12 month contract or is there a new offer coming along and they want to tie up existing customers on the current expensive rates?

I recently halved my costs with Virgin by telling them i was going to change to Sky.
