err..the cards stolen and hence you, eventually, get a chargeback (including fees...not to mention it's bad for your merchant account history) ???

Thanks, appreciate its probably not a clever thing to do, but trying to learn something more.
How is it bad for your merchant history if you take a stolen card and they authorize it, surely some onus must fall on them.
I was think that if you took £1000 stuck it in a high interest savings account, and when they charge you back, you've earnt the interest, which is like sticking your fingers up at the crooks, as youve got something out of it, the bank/card holder has his money back.
To me. its just like what the banks do to us when it takes 5 days transfering money from one place to another.

Unfortunately the merchant looses out as the he is charged costs for the chargeback as well as having the money taken back - he also looses the goods in most cases as well.

I agree mind, the banks do take advantage with deposits.

Sometimes I think the banks actually make more money when a fraudulent card is used - makes you wonder.
