Kinell, a half positive post about Cardnet. They were cast with the sodomites a long time ago from my perspective, crap customer service and very high charges IME.

Who are you sleeping with to get 'by far the best rates', those words have never been seen in the same neighbourhood as Cardnet before?

WTF am i supposed to recommend now. I've only got Barclays left i think.
And of course Secpay. They've been very reliable in my experience (although I do get the occasional customer who can't get complete payment. I suspect because they've switched IP address as part of their DOS prevention).

          LOL, GC it is then.
PPP looks better by the minute, mind you there was only one way for it to move to be fair.

PayPal has been working well on many of my sites for years and was a good fallback this weekend when HSBC went down.

              PP is fine

PPP may be fine in 8.5.2 I'm yet to test it

                Now HSBC have ballsed up.
                Realex doesn't work.

Functioning and correctly working integrated PSPs with Actinic are like rocking horse shit at the moment, WTF am i supposed to recommend now. I've only got Barclays left i think.

Lee I've used HSBC for a very long time, since the days you could ring Kevin in Manchester to deal with your problem, probably 4 years or so? This is the first problem I've had apart from set up - they'd not ticked the right box to allow me to go live, but was easily resolved. I'm certainly not contemplating moving to Protx or WP, they've had far more problems and ongoing issues. I'd certainly rate HSBC way above Protx & WP.

I do actually agree with you, i think Mal said the other day too that this is their first problem in 4 years he can recall. They're still my recommended PSP, especially as they seem to have solved the problem far quicker than anyone else did.

The sign of a good company is how they handle a problem in my eyes.

couldn't agree more and this is where both Protx AND Worldpay have fallen over recently .

You gotta feel sorry for anyone who moved from Protx, after that fiasco, to WorldPay and then got involved in their recent turmoil!!

I'd be about ready for topping myself, I think....or increasing my alcohol intake significantly

Imagine if they had PPP before that too. There's gotta be a person out there who has moved from PPP to PROTX to Worldpay to HSBC. If anyone can find this person and can prove it, they can have a free site design token off me, they deserve a break, that's for sure.

Crikey Lee. I've just remembered I used to agree with that

We bank with LloydsTSB, but I don't think that has much of an effect.
We were with Streamline (who were good) and just quoted their rates.

Am I missing something here? As far as I could tell, WorldPay, Protx, Netbanx etc are much more expensive to use than the banks, so why do so many of the chaps and chapesses here use them?
                          Kind Regards

Are you processing these transactions yourself, not using a PSP to do them?

Failing that maybe people got wise, left them and they reduced their rates cos of the loss of business and they are now good to work with.

I'm not really sure to be honest, but was genuinely astonished at you saying they were cheap - i sincerely hope you have calculated correctly, moving away from them, used to save you 30-40% from memory cos they were so expensive.

Cardnet are actually pretty much insisting you use Protx nowdays, been with them for 6 years or so, recently phoned them for another ecommerce merchant number, wanted to charge £180 set up fee, and they pre registered me with PROTX. Phoned Streamline with my FSB number, free set up, lower rates (.5% lower) and cheaper rates on the terminal. Got a mobile card machine for the same money cardnet wanted for a fixed and they seem happy to use any of the main PSP's for the site.

                                Regards
