My daughter and her friends (there's up to 10 in total and both guy's and gall's) are about to go to Uni this coming summer and want to go on holiday with her "current friends" before they all go and get a load of new ones. Its the friends that she's had for the last 10 yrs or so and they are all "village kids"
I say "up to 10" because as you can imagine, getting all 10 to agree where they go on hols would be a miracle
They looked at going abroad, but to be honest, they are not "that sort of kids" - they are not after that 18-30 scene, all they really want is to go to the beach somewhere in the UK (or abroad). sit around and reminisce about the last 10yrs or so.
They happily get together and cook for each other, buy stupid presents for each other, sleep overs, help each other with exams and "life's little problems" - think more "cheers" not 18-30
Being 18, they don't have loads of dosh, just a great friendship. but she's having a problem finding places in the UK that will accept a group of 18yr olds. (it seems they all get tarred with the same brush) They all have part time jobs etc, two or three of them (incl daughter) has a horse etc so I feel they are some of the more "responsible kids"
does anyone know of "nice" friendly accommodation they could rent for 7/10 days to "say goodbye to each other" - they would love the beach, of course, and they would love there to be other things to do around the area - the accommodation would probably be "two or more rooms" not a single one
I've always been loathed to be a guarantor for them, but ... I've got enough faith in their responsible attitude to life to act as a guarantor if that's what it really takes.
they would end up traveling by train or coach, (they don't have enough driving licences between them) so accessibility to the end destination would be helpful.
they would of course consider more sunny climes, especially if there was the opportunity of easyjet type flights available
They have a budget in mind and when its multiplied by the group, its a "reasonable amount" and it would definitely be self-catering
Has anyone got any serious suggestions please, a private email to me rather than a posting on the web would be much appreciated. They are based near Nottingham, so most places would be acceptable.
A-levels are in June, so my guess is it July/August wer'e looking at.
