Friday Competition - Desktop App. Count

It's time for some Friday Fun.
How many applications do you have open on your desktop (snapshot count; no duplicates, no cheating)?

I have 12.

I have 54 I also have another 40 in a folder on the desktop!

Of these on the desktop I use about 85% on a daily basis.

Dare not look in the Programs folders at how many are on here.

In defense they are all grouped (to OCD standards) on the left monitor with working files and folders on the right monitor!

I have none, excluding Microsoft standard ones! One does hate a messy desktop!

I am a wreck after BSOD and the icons default back to a float:left effect ... sod fixing the dodgy video drivers first job is to get the icons back into groups (system, backup, website, design, microsoft, accounts, email, browsers).

I really need a reality slap!

To me an open application is one that is running rather than just sitting on the desktop. Clarification?

Based on the ISO96215-2005 standard I have 6 open and running at the moment.

Pehaps if I had said 'taskbar' it would have been clearer.

(And I'm still in the lead with 12 - although I'm dreading an entry from Gabriel)

Ah, yes. But are we talking about users apps only or including system apps like firewalls, anti-virus, etc?

The right hand monitor of the desktop is a little free form .. must be something to do with the way the brain is split ... that must be my creative side.
