On my laptop here I have 7 open, not including 3 xl files and 4 notepad files in a group.

I also have 18 icons in the system tray and 76 processes, 709 threads and 19563 handles running - so there!

OOI handles are not a running application, they are an index to a Windows resource. Programs tend to use lots of these.

I've got 3 running and CPU usage is 99%. And actinic isn't even one of them.

Pehaps if I had said 'taskbar' it would have been clearer.

(And I'm still in the lead with 12 - although I'm dreading an entry from Gabriel)

Does this apply to just one computer or can I add up my laptop, second laptop and a desktop machine. 9 + 4 + 2.

To explain I am using remote access software to operate three machines from one keyboard and screen, typical geek

Just one computer. I have Citrix running in my taskbar, which is effectively a remote desktop thingy, but I'm counting it as one.

21 icons, 74 processes, 909 threads, 56015 handles (just one machine) aren't stats great
