The cost to post a job, or a project, has been removed.

If you want, you can pay a paltry £1 for your project to be featured (above all other projects), other than that, its now completely free.
you could add a low key voluntary "donation" button?

i think we all appreciate the value of the service and the time you have to put into it

i often find myself donating to software with a paypal donate button - but it is often my 2nd or 3rd visit that sees me putting my hand in my pocket, like a lot of people i like to know i will benefit before parting with cash

tbh, until it gets bigger, its using zero resources on my server, as well as being designed in such a way that it almost manages itself.

i can only justify having a tiny payment, for people to 'limelight' their projects. This is really to cover any bandwidth expenses.

        thanks for the idea.

Tbh if people are not prepared to spend a couple of pounds advertising their request then they are unlikely to be able to afford the services of a designer in the first place. When you compare it with the time involved emailing and calling designers to get quotes then its cost is nothing really.

You may get a better take up if you listed what designers were signed up so prospective clients can see who is getting thier requests

Personally i don't think its the actual cost, its more to do with the process.

I was going to post a small job a few weeks ago - which is why i noticed the cost - it had already taken me a while to register as a shop owner (BTW what is a project and what is a job) then it asked for payment. So bearing in mind i could log in as both a designer and a shop owner I could see there was little activity on the site, i gave up and contacted someone direct and got the job done.

Who is going to pay to advertise on a site with few views when they can place a job on this commnity get hundreds of views and no cost?

If the system is to work it needs to be easy

              a site with few views
Gabes service is very different to the forum in that any requests for quotes are emailed to every designer that is registered. I never visit the site but do get whatever is posted on the other hand I tend to ignore design requests on the forum.
