Crystal reports 8.5 - anyone got a copy they don't need anymore

I need to put crystal reports onto a laptop and don't have any more spare licenses, has anyone got one that they don't need? I will be happy to swap it for some cash or Mole End software (with a fantastic exchange rate on the latter).

I'd also like a copy if there is one going spare...eBay seems a bit bare at the moment.

lol, I have uncovered a secret need -

I was talking to someone on eBay about one this morning but they wanted £100+ for their copy which I thought was a little high. They have removed their listing now so presumably made a private sale to someone else but I'm sure that there will be more soon.

I paid around £37 Inc P&P in October from ebay for my copy (slightly tatty box), although i have no got around to playing with it yet.

P.S. My copy is NOT for sale

Are we sure that 9.0.4 still requires v8.5 when it finally gets released and will V10 go for a newer version?

I would suspect the license Actinic have for Crystal Reports won't be the same one we can buy (ie. single license) for a few hundred quid, but a multi-license which costs a pretty penny. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

I am sure that v9.0.4 would still use Crystal Reports V8.5.
Whether they change for V10 would be a pure guess, but I would guess at keeping to V8.5.

I don't see the move away from Crystal reports being a high priority for Actinic. There are many more important things for them to focus on.

I agree with you Mike, however it is a real shame that the reporting architecture is based on an old version of Crystal Reports when there are many alternative options available now for a robust, versatile reporting mechanism within the software framework.

There have been bugs identified in the reporting module within Actinic in the past. Perhaps a "good" rewrite of this may have mitigated against lost time fixing bugs whilst improving the user experience to boot and avoid a scramble for software which is several years old and hard to find!
