My youngest has just started year 9 - scary, she was a toddler just last week.

I wonder if this thread is a good indicator of the forum members lifestyles? We start of with a simple 'how is everyone' and end up discussing Iphones and kids (but mostly kids).

      Mike

PS. My son is away this week on his year 6 trip to Kingswood near Cromer. They do grow up fast don't they.

My boy has gone back this week into year 6. He's off on a school residential in two weeks to PGL Osmington Bay (PGL do really fantastic family holidays - just about the best holiday we've ever had).

Girly has gone into year 9 - I know what you mean, Duncan, about her being a toddler last week. Where has the time gone?

I've now got some peace and quiet and can actually get into my office rather than working from a laptop on the kitchen table!

          So yeah, I'm fine.

          I still don't do iphones.

My kids are all adult age now. That's actual from birth age. Not mental age.

Any news? Well, I suppose that today is the last day of our ninth year of the company that is Football Heaven is my news.

Oh, and I now own a dslr. Nikon is for Kool Kids.

              Thanks for asking George.
Me and the Girls are healthy and happy.
I'm in desperate need of a holiday though; always tend to get jaded at this time of year as the panic of the summer sales falls off and the prospect of getting back to work on the business and the websites begins to loom.
If I was King I'd make blooming well sure there were at least 48 hours in a day.

I still get a similar feeling as you Lee when dropping off our 7 year old in the morning - it never seems to diminish really. I just love the way she heads in full of expectation and curiosity for what lies ahead in the day.

Unlike my 26 year old, who appears to be having difficulty getting over the grunting stage!
Having said that, I had noticed recently that he's becoming a lot more adult and then as if by magic I hear on the radio that a human's brain only reaches maturity (i.e. properly wired!) at around 24/25. Explains a lot.

Bizz not been bad this Year of Doom, but we haven't grown at all, which is a first in 13 years.
A lot more returns than ever before, often the package hasn't even been opened. I suspect that before hubby can get the box opened and the 500 seat is fitted to the bike, wifey steps in and reminds him there is a recession on and money is not to be squandered on having a comfy bum.

Tracey - I know the visitors experience well. Lived in Greece for a decade and unless you are strict and organised, the summer 7 months can be one long stream of visitors, which of course is very disruptive and takes you away from your work, apart from being exhausting.
In the end, we only allowed 7-day visits and made sure there were 3 or 4 weeks between each one.
It's amazing how many friends one suddenly has when one moves to the Med!

              What's an iPhone?
              Kind Regards

I took my son for his first day at school today, he walked in, dashed off to play with the trucks in the sand pit, i was feeling a little emotional, so gave him a kiss and made a sharp exit. Poignant moment as they say.
OMG I can't believe he is old enough to go to school already. How time flies.

All ok here. I have a horrid cough (which I hope doesn't go on too long) but did mean I had to postpone an operation I was due to have on Monday. If it doesn't get re-booked in next few weeks it will have to wait till the January as the C********s sales will start soon after.

About to embark on employing someone for the first time - just 2 hours a day to start with to do Admin stuff which I get bogged down in and that will hopefully free me up some time to do other important stuff.

No kids here to send off to school but my sister started Uni on Monday as a mature student to do a Nursing Degree so been hearing all about that.

My feet haven't touched the ground in nearly 6 months. Clients with complications, cars with repairs, madness on a grand scale.

Writing plugins, faffing with CSS and PHP. I built and sold an arcade machine. I still refuse to buy an iPad.

Why is it so quiet here? Don't tell me that all the bugs are fixed and we've got nothing to talk about. Surely not!

"I still refuse to buy an iPad."

Caved in the other day. Huge disappointment, probably because I had built it up in my mind as a potential PC replacement for certain aspects of work, but Apple seem intent on hobbling it for this purpose (eg iWorks Numbers won't output to Excel format, which would have been great, but iWorks Pages will output to Word format which isn't so great). If anything, it highlights how good the iPhone is. If you've already got an iPhone, don't bother.

I love my iPad. I use it via Logmein Ignition to work remotely, also for Twitter, emails etc. I take it everywhere.

Remote access is good (I use TeamViewer), but I had one thing that I really wanted to be able to do, which was to create Excel pro forma invoices using a pre-existing template, then print to PDF and email to clients. Printing to PDF proved to be impossible, so I "lost interest". Internet based stuff and email I just do on the iPhone.
