Files not included in the snapshot

Files that are selected for CVs configured as type File Content are not included in the site snapshot.

PHP includes are also not recognised and included in the snapshot.

I would like to see these files included?

I've mentioned that before
In fact, when we went down for beta testing, it was mentioned and CD did say it'd been reported.

I guess it didn't get fixed in 903 in the end but it'd be nice if someone could confirm that it's being addressed in a future release, please?

There needs to be a site level setting where entire folders can be added to the back-up ... this could then include folders for original artwork, folders created for auto scaled thumbnails and all the folders that Normans plug-ins can generate for example. A complete 100% archive of everything you need if the computer dies.

That would be the way to go.

It's really frustrating when transfering work to another PC and then find that a lot of files are not found. Especially since the import recognises that they are missing.

Reports aren't included ATM either, which means that custom reports are lost if you transfer by snapshot, would be nice to see those included as well.

Somebody really messed with the snapshot functionality in v9 and it needs to be sorted out IMO

Quite agree. Very frustrating to fing a load of vital files are missing from what should be a full backup.

It all went wrong when they played with the snapshots so they four not be imported into a licenced copy of v9

Actually its really a bit misleading then, one trusts a snapshot to contain all you need to get going again asap in event of disaster.

Snapshots are/were a great facility but these days I can't rely on them and also have to make copies of the site folder. I was tempted to add all the 'missed files' to the additional files list but it's crazy to have to upload the files just to get them included ijn the snapshot.

Come on Actinic what's your take on this....?

When they revamped this area, we didn't get what we all seemed to have asked for, had they have provided us with the 'add folder' option that we mentioned 2 years ago, it wouldn't be so much a problem. This V9 nuking files problem is a large issue too, Norman has had to alter his addons now to get you to add files into additional files to counteract it.

This area has gone backwards and all cos they didn't listen to us despite a massive thread discussing this area. I still cannot grasp how things like this that worked fine for 2 years, now don't, it's a clear digress not progress. It's easier to design in V8 than in V9 and V9 is 6 months old, that has to be bonkers surely.
