SellerDeck v12.0.5 OHXC onwards
By default SellerDeck uses the MS Jet 4.0 database engine for Access. However this has a known bug which in some circumstances can cause SellerDeck to hang for a long period when opening a site.
If you experience this issue, it can be resolved in SellerDeck versions from v12.0.5 OHXC by switching to the more recent Microsoft Access (or ‘ACE’) Engine.
Unlike the Jet engine this is not a part of the Windows operating system. It is installed with Microsoft Access or the free Access Runtimes. To ensure you have a suitable version of ACE installed refer to How do I install a supported version of MS Access Driver?
To determine whether the ACE Engine is already installed and running on your system, take the following steps:
To enable SellerDeck to use the ACE Engine, proceed as follows:
Re-open the ODBC Data Source Administrator (above) and check the entries for SellerDeckCatalog14 and ActinicSimpeShipping14. They should now be tagged ‘Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *.accdb)’ instead of ‘Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)’.

To determine whether the ACE Engine is already installed and running on your system, take the following steps:
Windows 7 32-bit, Windows 8.0 and Windows 8.1:
- Open the Control Panel and select ‘System and Security’, then ‘Administrative Tools’.
- Double-click open ‘Data Sources (ODBC)‘.
Windows 7 64-bit:
- Click the ‘Start’ button and paste the following text into the Search box:
%systemdrive%\Windows\SysWoW64\Odbcad32.exe
Entries for the Jet driver are labelled ‘Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)’. If there is at least one item labelled ‘Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *.accdb)’ then the ACE driver is present. If there is no such entry then ACE is either not installed or not enabled.
To enable SellerDeck to use the ACE Engine, proceed as follows:
- Click the Windows ‘Start’ button. Type ‘regedit’ into the search box and press the Enter / Return key.
- Find and expand ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE’ and ‘SOFTWARE’.
- Find and expand ‘SellerDeck’ and then ‘2014’ (or whichever version you are using). If your Windows operating system is 64-bit, this will be within the ‘Wow6432Node’ hive.
- Right-click ‘2014’ and select New | DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Enter the name ‘UseACEODBC’.
- Double-click the new entry and enter a value of 1.
- Click ‘OK’, then [X] to close the Registry Editor.
- Open SellerDeck.
