How do I transfer a site from one PC to another?

Install the software on the new machine using the installation disk or downloaded installation files and licence it.

The latest software can be downloaded here.
Older versions can be downloaded here.

In order to make it simple to move an entire store from one installation of SellerDeck software to another, there is a built in 'snapshot' feature. A snapshot saves all relevant files and settings into one easily portable file. These 'site files' use an extension of *.acd.

On the old machine create a snapshot by going to 'File | Snapshot | Export Site'. This will then guide you through a wizard to help you save all the relevant settings for your currently active site into one file.
Transfer this to the second machine, and import it into the software by going to 'File | Snapshot | Import Site'.

You will then have a complete copy of the site on the new machine. When convenient, run the command 'Web | Refresh Website' to associate the new machine to the site.

If for some reason a snapshot cannot be taken, an alternative method is to transfer the site folder complete to the new machine (assuming the site to be transferred is 'Site1' and you are transferring the site to the exact same version of the software on another pc, ie V10 to V10): -
    1. ensure SellerDeck is closed on both pcs
    2. open 'Windows Explorer' and browse to the 'Site1' folder on the original pc
    3. copy the contents of the folder (not the folder itself)
    4. transfer them to the new pc and browse to the 'Site1' folder created by the installation program
    5. paste the contents from the original pc, overwriting any existing files
    6. on the original pc, open SellerDeck and go to 'Housekeeping | Security'
    7. copy the 'Encryption key', 'Username' and 'Password' fields
    8. paste these into the corresponding fields on the new pc, overwriting the current contents (ensure that you do not paste any extra spaces at the end of the encryption key or you will have problems downloading orders).

The 'snapshot' facility can also be used to store backups of the site.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have the 'Designer' version and are deploying a site to a client, you need to go to 'Design | Deploy Site Snapshot' (full Site) or 'Deploy Partial Site Design' (design alone) depending on your need.
