"SellerDeck was unable to connect to the Syncronization server. Please check ... "

If you get the following error when trying to open SellerDeck on a business plus user machine, please see the solution below:

"SellerDeck was unable to connect to the Syncronization server. Please check your network connections and that the Synchronization server is running. Would you like to retry or exit SellerDeck?”

You will need to temporarily disable firewalls to establish what is causing the problem, you can re-enable them afterwards:
    1. On your computer, go to Start | Control Panel | Windows firewall.
    2. On the general tab select “off”.
    3. Go to the “Advanced” tab and un-tick the tick box next to “Local Area Connection”
    4. Click “OK”.

Now try opening SellerDeck again on the Business Plus user machine. If this solves the problem, this confirms Windows firewall is the cause of the problem, if this has not solved a problem try temporarily disabling any third party firewalls you have such as Norton, Zone Alarm or Outpost to see if that is what is blocking SellerDeck from working correctly.

If the correct ports have been enabled within the firewall it may be caused by Windows built-in firewall not allowing the program through as an exception.
Instructions are given below for allowing the program ‘Catalog’ as an exception.
    1. On your computer, go to 'Start | Control Panel'
    2. Click on ‘Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall’
    3. You will be displayed with a number of programs that communicate through Windows Firewall. Check the list if the software is ticked or unticked.
    4. If ticked you will need to untick and press ‘OK’
    5. If the software is not listed you will need to add this by clicking ‘Allow another program’.
    6. Click ‘Browse’ on the opened window and browse for the application. Normally 'C:\Program Files\SellerDeck xxxx\ActSyncServer.exe' (where xxxx is replaced with the software version)
    7. Then click ‘Add’ and make sure the tick boxes are ticked to allow access.
    8. Press ‘Ok’
    9. Close Control Panel and try connecting to the sites folder again!
