How can I apply a surcharge to selected products that I can adjust from time-to-time without having to edit all of the products?
Normally this can be done using advanced shipping based on weight and setting appropriate weights for the products to be surcharged.
However, if your shipping is based on quantity or value then you can apply the surcharge against the individual products as follows:-
1. Create a hidden product for the surcharge.
2. Set the product price to the value of the surcharge.
3. For each of the products requiring the surcharge:-
- add a component.
- Untick 'Is Optional'
- Set 'Associated Product' to the surcharge product created above.
- Tick the box 'Use Associated Price'.
When the surcharge changes you will only need to change the price of the hidden surcharge product.
