How do I put line breaks into the header text in the 'Settings | Site Options | General', 'Header Text' area so that it's not one continuous string?

Embed the HTML into the text by opening text with !!< and closing it with >!! To make a line break command, between those quotes insert .

<br/>

For example, enter...
!!<This is the first heading line<br/>This is the second heading line>!!

The browser will display...

This is the first heading line
This is the second heading line
