On the Design Tab, click on home in the content tree, then in the layout code right click and select 'Insert Layout', in the layout selectors area scroll down to select 'QuickSearchBar' then click 'Insert'. This will insert the layout, you can then right click on the layout and select 'Edit Appearance' and make required changes there.
