How do I customise the font for the navigation bar item text?

Select 'Advanced | Template Manager | Main' and amend the 'Nav. Item' template (Frame Nav. Item if using frames) to include the required HTML code around the variable NETQUOTEVAR:NAVTEXT.

You can do the same with the Brochure Navigation text, select the 'Brochure' tab in Template Manager and select 'Nav. Item'.
