With our system its important that the main computer with the DB is switched on first before the client computers otherwise you get sinc errors

If I have to restart my main computer during the day, then the others must turn off to

    Otherwise 9.0.3 is fine

      V9.0.5 JHZA sync server problems

Hi All, hope you are all well

We have a nightmare 2 weeks. Our broadband broke which resulted in us having no internet access for a week - great fun! This problem was two fold - one) our route broke and two) the BT line deteriorated which could only be fixed by our line speed being reduced by half. Our router gave our network IP addresses which broke our network as well!!

We're back up and running now and our network is operating perfectly for seeing files, sharing printing, internet access etc however our second user site will not open.
      It says:
Actinic was unable to connecto the sync server. check the sync server is running

I've read all the posts I can find on the sync server here. I've taken the second installation off and re-installed it, I've checked the sync server is running, stopped it and started it again, I've taken all the firewalls off both machines and I've checked our firewall software and it's not blocking the connection. I've disabled the share mode on the main machine and put it back on again. Our machine had recently downloaded a windows update so we rolled that back and it fixed it for about an hour?? and then broke again.

Can anyone suggest anything I may have missed. The last sync server posts seem quite old and when the sync server itself was quite unastable. Ours has been running fine but since our system was thrown out it hasn't worked.

My knowledge is little but I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the IP addresses for our network? When the new router was intalled (this one takes our old BT internet and a new radio wireless service and uses the fastest one) the IP address range was made the same as our old range. I can see within the main version of Actinic that the IP address for that machine is correct but obviously as the other version won't open I can't see what that is doing.

Sorry, this is very rambling but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just in case it helps anyone. When I looked into the sync server set up within the main actinic each site was slightly different. Converted each one back to standalone and then re did the sync server and it all works fine now. Happy Days x
