The operating system is not presently configured to run this application.

Two clients have contacted me over the weekend with being unable to open Sellerdeck following windows update
The operating system is not presently configured to run this application.

I told them to uninstall and reinstall but does anyone know what is happening and how to fix it????

      Hi Jonathan

I thought I had seen something previously, found this on knowledgebase that Gary has posted...

      https://community.sellerdeck.com/for...ion#post552929

I have tried it and have gained access to the software again, hope it helps.

The link in post #3 to the solution in the knowledge base worked for me this morning.

All I had to do was download and install the 'AccessDatabaseEngine.exe' file from the given link. Despite it reading as two separate steps with reference to the jet drivers.

          So for clarity, this:

          1. Run Windows Update
          2. Install the latest Jet drivers for Win10 from here
          3. Download and run 'AccessDatabaseEngine.exe' (not the x64 file)
          I think really means this:

          1. Run Windows Update
          2. To install the latest Jet drivers for Win10, download and run 'AccessDatabaseEngine.exe' (not the x64 file), from here
There may be further complications so best to follow the link to the full post in the knowledge base.

          Mike

Getting similar problems installing 18.0.5 and 16.0.7

Doing the above solves the problem plus this:

Do a manual install/repair/reinstall of Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4.

            https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=30679

Once you have done this, run the installation files for the software again.

Does this problem affect the SQL version aswell?

I wouldn't be surprised as it's the Crystal Reports engine that needs the jet drivers rather than the sellerdeck database.

You'll know soon enough if you need the fix as sellerdeck won't load without it. Once you have the problem though it's only a 2 minute job to fix it.

I just had sellerdeck V18 hanging on start up again. The screen would just show it open and loading to 100% and then it would just sit there.

I tried closing and restarting several times, no luck. Rebooting, no luck.

The only thing that worked was to do this again:

Install the latest Jet drivers for Win10, download and run 'AccessDatabaseEngine.exe' (not the x64 file), from here
I'm not sure if it was a coincidence or not (I hate coincidences) but Kaspersky also installed it's latest version after the reboot.

So if anyone has the same problem this is probably worth a shot.
