    Quantity Against Choice?

We are adding some more complicated furniture products to our site and I keep hitting a wall trying to achieve how we want to set them up, as below. Not sure if it can't be done, or if I'm missing something obvious, but would appreciate any help or guidance.

We set up a dummy product for item A, for example an open cupboard, with components and attributes for the sizes, which has say three hidden products linked to the choices, via the permutations tab. Prices come from Sage which populates the hidden products. This all works fine.

We then have another selection where we want to present the options for doors. I can set it up OK with the option to have no doors, or with doors, and the price pulls through OK using the above method. However, there are circumstances where someone might need to add two or maybe three door sets and I can't see how to allow the customer to choose the quantity?

Any ideas or advice welcome please.

    Jeff

The only way I can think of doing it is to have the different number of doors as a separate choice.

Hi Mike, That's a possible solution, thanks. Our problem stems from the fact the door is one individual product within Sage, so we would have to create additional products for one door set, two door sets etc for every applicable range. But it is an option - and one I hadn't thought of, thanks.
The example I gave is indicative but it's one the occurs in a few other situations with desks for example, where they are linked.

The example in the Helpfile shows a Toy car with an option to add a pack of batteries. That just shows the quantity fixed as "1" and I guess that can be changed to whatever we pre-set, but it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect a customer to want to order 2, or 3 sets of batteries for example, and to give them the choice?

If they are separate products in Sage, you could keep them as separate products in Sellerdeck and use the 'Single Add to Cart' shopping mode for the Section. Then the customer could choose any quantity of each product, and add them all to the cart with one click. Is that what you want?

Thanks for idea Bruce. I haven't done that before so I'll take a look and see if that word work for us.

Bruce, I had a look at your idea last night but have little knowledge in this area and couldn't achieve what you suggested. I'm sure that's me though. I can't see anything to reference it in the Help Files. Is there an example you can refer me to please as I can't see how to set out the actual products and have them without a Add To Cart button? Thanks

It would be a nice feature with components and associated products if we could specify the number of associated products that were part of the build.

I can see lots of ways I could use it. Everything from offering simple multi-buy packs to building sophisticated options like the above with units, doors, drawers, handles, etc.
