    Very slow upload speed

I am experiencing a very slow upload of Sellerdeck files.
I've tested my upload speed with other programs and with my server support and it seems to be fine, so it is pointing to Sellerdeck.

The only thing I have changed recently is adding the code change to Bypass the cgi link in favour of a direct link from our Drillpine legend Norman Rouxel.
Has anyone else experienced this after changing the cgibin hrefs to direct links?

I think this is the cause, my site is also slow to upload compared to my other without the patch.

For me, the seo benefits far out-way the slower upload.
    Many Thanks

      Hi Lee

      Yes, most definitely.

I experienced the same problem with site uploads taking 2+ hours compared to 10 mins average so I reverted back to using the cgi links.

See also Jason's post #53 in the link below:

The Featured Products displayed on my Home Page was also developed by Norman as an add on for SD16 back in 2017 and these do not generate the cgi link, so I think Norman perhaps found a smarter way to do this!

my hook and loop fasteners store is the one with the patch, 700 odd products and all best sellers, also bought lists etc use the patch, upload on a bad day will take about 15 minutes maximum.
        Many Thanks

My upload time has increased a lot since adding the patch, maybe takes 20 minutes now.

We just don’t upload as much now.

I agree with Lee, the seo benefits are worth the increased upload time.
          Regards

I have been doing some page speed work again lately, one of the points Lighthouse raised was that some js scripts needed compressing, namely:

            actiniccore.js
            atinicextras.js
            actinicsearch.js
            responsive.js
            recentproductsupport.js
            dynamic.js

These are all surrounded by code that if compression is turned on I thought they were converted or minified, however according to lighthouse this was not happening, so using jscompress I minified them and called them as:

            actiniccore.min.js
            atinicextras.min.js
            actinicsearch.min.js
            responsive.min.js
            recentproductsupport.min.js
            dynamic.min.js

I have kept an eye on error logs and all is fine, store works and ironically the upload time has drastically improved, I can't say for sure it's this but it is the only recent change, other than updating from 18.2.2. to 18.2.4, however after the upgrade the upload time was still slow, changing these scrips to .min.js seems to have had a positive impact on upload time.
            Many Thanks

WOW... I thought when ours reached several mins it was already way too long

              - we moved to SQL version because everything was slow, the interface, everything ground to a near halt on MDB
              - even on SQL, used to always hang at a certain stage taking a few minutes
              - the updates (currently using 18.2.2) seems to have improved, it's about a minute on average (and we update quite often during the day)
              - we are on basic on Actinic templates... haven't had the opportunity to start to explore SWIFT due to the mis-match versions of Sellerdeck and Swift but now with SD v18.2.4 at last they are matched... (but do I want to)

              10mins to 2+ hours...
