    Teclan Single Page Checkout - Ugrading from V9 to V10 problems

    Hi all,

    I recently tried to upgrade to V10 from V9 but ran into a problem with the Teclan Single Page Checkout. I know that's perhaps to be expected because of the new checkout in V10 but I am finding it hard to find a work around so have had to revert back to V9.

    I originally contacted Actinic support, but after spending a day looking at my site they said it was too heavily modified and they didn't know what to do with it and that I should go back to Teclan (who had originally spent 10 minutes installing the Single Page Checkout).

    So - I went back to Fergus who was as helpful as usual and who gave me some instructions. I was to reset the factory settings on V9 for the checkout and then upgrade this to V10 - all looked straight forward and easy to follow. However, on following these I unfortunately get the same error at the checkout (it just hangs on stage 2).

    I was really hoping to try V10 (having specifically waited for 10.1 to come out first) but seem unable to be able to upgrade to it because I have the Teclan Single Page Checkout on my V9, so does anyone have any other solutions I could try?

    These are what I reset to factory settings as per Fergus' instructions:

    Order00
    Order01
    Order02
    Order03 ...and I've also reset the: Order Details Bulk Area

    If you go into the design library and select the 3 checkboxes, it should show you anything that is not standard via the little icons, trawl through those is what i do when i have a mystery. As much as you can get back to factory standard the better of course, particularly on the checkout area.

      Thanks Lee - I'll try that later today when it quietens down and see if I can get to the bottom of it.

        O.K. I've tried resetting the settings to factory defaults but on reviewing the checkout page (this time I have not tried re-uploading the entire site as that takes about 45 minutes) I can still see the single page Teclan checkout there (see enclosed). Any ideas anyone what I am missing here?

        It's frustrating being stuck like this as I can't upgrade to V10. Actinic can't help me as my site is now 'heavily modified' (having the Teclan Single Page add-on installed) and I've followed Teclans instructions to uninstall with no luck. Anyone else been in the same boat?

          I presume you must still have some layouts that need resetting back to default.

            Sorry - enclosed now.
            Yes I guess there are some setting s not reset, but I've reset everything else I can find that has 'checkout' in the title.

              Don't just work on anything with checkout in the title, the checkout pages have order in their name for instance. Use the checkboxes to identify anything changed, then expand all groups and look at each one that is not standard, it works every time for me, i suspect you're just not being thorough enough.

                Thanks Lee - I'll try again.

                To start with I did these (as Teclan advised):
                • Order00
                • Order01
                • Order02
                • Order03
                • Order Details Bulk Area


                I've deleted the Teclan Checkout indicator (it was already greyed out).

                I can see the Teclan Order 00/01/02 Bulk Area (but reset to factory settings is greyed out so I can't do this).

                There's a Teclan Quick Checkout (under Teclan Layouts) but Revert to Factory Settings is greyed out - should I delete it instead?

                The only other ones that look modified are:

                Price Template
                Receipt Page Layout
                Extrnal Page Design
                Actinic Style Sheet
                Section Page with a Name at the top
                Search Page Bulk Area
                Receipt Page Bulk
                Shopping Cart Table & Shopping cart Summary
                Checkout Area & Checkout Button

                I'm not sure what I can and should not reset, because I do have some other Teclan add-ons working on my site.

                  The bottom 3 in your list may need some work, leave all the others above. I've never used the addon, so can't comment with any certainty. The revert to factory setting is only available on factory layouts, as these are extras, it will not offer the option.

                  You coudl also check site options to ensure nothing Teclan is in the mix and also design > themes > advanced page layouts (or whatever it's called) and check what's being used in there.

                  If you're not going to be using it, then yes you can delete it.

                    Thanks again Lee - I apprecate your help.

                    I've reset some of the settings in the "Shopping Cart Table" & "Shopping cart Summary".

                    I haven't changed the "Checkout Area" & "Checkout Button" or "Receipt Page Bulk" because on checking a page preview it looks like I might already have fixed the issue. I'll re-upload the site and see if it works.

                      The 'step' headers are not standard, so i think you've still some way to go yet.

                        Yes, I'd forgotten what the original looked like. I wish I could just uninstall the Teclan SSCO instead of having to do all of this - just in case I remove something I shouldn't! The plan is to upgrade to V10 as soon as I get this working.

                            O.K. So I've tried a few times - each time resetting a few things, but on each upload it hasn't done the trick - and then I obviously delete something important and it doesn't work at all.
                            This is terribly frustrating - I don't get why I just can't reverse the process by which Teclan installed the one page checkout?
                            I'll continue to try - but at this rate I'm destined to be stuck on V9 for ever!

                              To remove the Single Page Checkout for V9 should be a reverse of the install.
