I have contacted actinic but no reply yet.

Compacting the database removes any old, unneeded fields, data, etc from the database and repairs any problems it can find. It's good to do this regularly as it save space and fixes many database problems.

Compact the database and try again. If that doesn't fix it try running a network test and reporting back any error messages you get.

    Mike

Actually, re-reading this it looks like a PC problem rather than a web one so a network test might not yield anything useful.

Compacting the database is the first thing to try. Compacting is a housekeeping function that should be done regularly to reduce the size of the database and delete any unused space. Many odd issues can arise if the database is not compacted regularly.

Catalog is Actinic. You can safely do what it says.

No Not to actinic, but we recently got a virus on the laptop, which was removed.

                Thankyou again

It could be your anti-virus that's stopping actinic from uploading. Particularly likely if you've installed a new one after your virus problem.

Make sure Actinic has 'trusted' status and if that doesn't work you could tell us what anti-virus software you're using and see if anyone has any suggestions.

I would suggest it's likely to be virus connected as you have already found one

Go onto web and go to www.avg.co.uk and upload there trial anti virus or any of the other main anti virus and try a scan with them you may well find there is a virus left on your machine

Have you made a recent backup stored off the machine

Try to make a snapshot of site now if it will not work make a seperate copy of the sites folder and store safely

If worst comes to you, reinstore actinic and reistall snapshot from last week or replace sites folder(after it's been proven clear of virus

It is extremely unwise to have 2 antivirus program's on one pc. They will clash with each other.

You should now uninstall both AVs, use the specialist uninstall program provided by the software supplier. Then install your chosen AV again.

Then check Actinic is trusted etc

Would it not be better to just have one working and one not working so you can always do a seperate scan if required, I have never had a problem with this setup, but agree not both running together
