Internet sales application has stopped working

    Hi thanks for the help

    I havent got two running, got rid of the original one, just got the AVG on. Its much better than the other one was.
    Still got the same problem with actinic, hoping they get back to me today (not holding my breath though )

      I think you may have to re-install Actinic, but don't attempt that unless you have good backups. Do you have another computer to test with?

        No i havent got another computer

        Can i download it just like that? I have my key from when i first bought it.

          Yes but make sure you have everything backed up, including your latest snapshots, the complete Site1 folder and any images or files that may be outside the Site1 folder.

          If you're using windows 7 you could try to repair the installation first from the control panel.

            Do you have M/S Access ?, if so you could open sites folder, Site, Catalogue.mdb and try repair from access Make a copy first and use that to see if it finds and repair any faults, worth a go before trying a re-install, but leave it in original format which I think is still Access 2003

              Hi

              I have held off re installing actinic untill hearing from actinic, but thankyou for your replies.

              I have had several emails from actinic. and after sending them my snapshot they have used my snapshot to upload to my server without any problems, they have even used it on several different computers with no problems, so they have now passed on the problem to development staff.

              i am now hoping to get my back ups ready and re download actinic, although if anybody has any suggestions i would be very happy to hear them.

                    If your snapshot is good then do a re-install of actinic. That's the main thing left and chances are it (or it's settings) been corrupted by the virus or whatever you used to remove the virus.

                    I'd think it unlikely the development team are going to find anything in the snapshot.

                    Do a fresh installation of Actinic and you should be fine.

                    PS. What's recommended for a re-installation? Do an uninstall/remove first?

                      I think it's time to be pro-active on this. If Actinic have found no problems, then you need to take the initiative. As Mike says, re-installing is the best way forward now. Sitting back and waiting for someone else to fix it just isn't going to happen. You're going to be losing money hand over fist.

                        I would backup the works including all images etc outside of the Site1 folder if you have any as well as the complete Site1 folder itself and any snapshots you may have.

                        Then uninstall, reboot and reinstall. Make sure you install the same exact version and the that you have your key available. Import your snapshot and you should hopefully be running again.

                          Hi

                          Thankyou for all your advice, i am curently making backups, but i was wondering if you could tell me how i make sure i download the exact version i am currently using, (by the way im actually using V10 not v11, i realised i was in the wrong part of the forum but didnt think it mattered too much) i have my original email with my key in, and a link to download, but how do i know if it will download the right one?
                          Sorry to sound completely dumb, but i want to do this right.

                            If you open Actinic you'll be able to see what version you have. From your website it looks like it's 10.3 (DAYNO=LAFA) but its worth checking.

                              I have un installed and re installed, and it has fixed the problem Thankyou so much for everyones help, i wish i had dared do it days ago.

                              I have gor one problem though, in all of the orders that i had before the addresses and names are just random letters and numbers, i have printed them before and processed those orders but im just wondering if this is normal or if it is possible to fix it.

                                Try a new order and make sure it comes through OK.
                                Also have you virus checked your PC again? Make sure you are definitely rid of that virus.
