    Product Reviews

    Hi,

I am looking into installing product reviews onto a number of our sites, and the easiest and most obvious solution is feefo that is already intergrated with actinic however has anyone looked at any other product review platforms that may work? Our one issue with feefo is that you cannot decline a review if it is bad we are currently using soapbox however we feel this isnt the most seo friendly solutions.

There are two key things to remember with Feefo.

The first is that although you can't decline a review you can be emailed as soon as you receive a bad review. Then you can post a reply that is shown alongside the original. I think this is hugely more credible than having a site with no critical reviews.

The second is that with Google's recent approval of Feefo as a recognised feedback system it should make Feefo reviews much more powerful in delivering traffic.

Anyway, all the best with your decision whichever way it goes.

      Hi Chris,

thanks for the reply, this is something which we did take into consideration and you are exactly right it is beneficial however we would still like to have the ability to remove a review.

I am currently looking at power reviews has anyone ever tried to integrate there system with actinic before?

We use soapbox for product reviews. This gives us the ability to moderate all comments, edit and add our own comments if needed. One off cost.

For our service reviews we are using trustpilot. They were already a google feed which we felt was more important than just being independant. We wanted that nice row of 5 gold stars next to our name.

Price was also a consideration. We i looked at feefo it was a cost/feedback request sent which seemed to work out expensive, especially as it wasn't a google feed. Trustpilot charge an annual fee based on a set number of requests/month. I think we paid £1200 / year for 1000 requests a month. Roughly 10p/request.

Options to moderate are limited - you can request removal basis on a few conditions or leave your own comments. I think the independent nature of this makes it worth much more than a review you can control 100%. I don't think anyone would trust a company that only had 100% reviews

Prior to using trustpilot, we used soapbox with a product set up as "customer reviews" This worked fine and allowed us to check that we could deliver a 5 star service before committing to an independent service.

        our review page: http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/w...en-house.co.uk

        Our website review page http://www.chicken-house.co.uk/acata...y_reviews.html

Below the trustbox info is the soap box reviews.

          Just to clarify.

800 requests a month with Feefo would cost £480 per annum through Actinic, payable monthly and which can be cancelled at any time, after that, requests cost 10p each. For just over £1,000 per annum you would get 2,000 requests/month on the same terms.

Feefo is now fully accredited with Google as mentioned earlier.

You can optionally use Feefo for MOTO orders if you want. Depending on the proportion of MOTO orders you take, this could obviously lead to a lot more feedback.

Charles Tyrwhitt recently did a statistically valid A/B test on putting the Feefo feedback icon next to the add-to-cart button. The result was an over 6% uplift in sales. And this is from a company with £57m online sales, that already has a brilliant reputation for quality and who have already been using Feefo for years.

If you aspire to a highly successful business based on good service you should use customer feedback. And we believe that you will get the best results from independent feedback.

          Chris

            Hi,

I also use Trustpilot, and I am now showing 'Amazon/Ebay style' stars in AdWords.

It is now fully customisable, and integrates easily into a website with simple code.

Is trust pilot an overall site review or can it also review it by product? The google review feed is an important thing that we do want.

Search in Google for "charles tyrwhitt".

You will see 'Amazon/Ebay style' stars in the AdWords and mention of nearly 105,000 reviews. This is driven by Feefo.

It's half the price of the competition, takes the click of a few buttons to implement in Actinic and is fully supported by Actinic support. What's not to like?

The customer can tailor their reply to comment about a specific product, or the companies service overall.

                    Hi Chris,

This is great and is exactly why we are wanting to install this however feefo dosnt seem to clear to the customers, I want it to look like the amazon type reviews with stars etc and would also like the reviews to sit on my own servers rather than point to another url.

And also the review moderation would be a nice feature to have incase we ever get an over the top customer slagging us off.

Do you know if feefo offer any form of free trial so we can see what it is like for a few days? I am currently talking to power reviews and I think they are going to setup a trial for me so I can test the integration with actinic they are also very close on price and offer multi site reviews as well as the seo result displaying and image and video uploading.

You can remove reviews with feefo for certain conditions, for example, I had a bad review based on non-supply of a product that we didn't even sell (avery mailing labels, we sell avery mailing label software) and after some discussion, that review was removed. You can't remove valid opinion though, even if you don't like it.

                        Hi,

I thought I would post this here as I have just emailed it over to my MD analysing feefo, please correct if I have missed anything off or got anything wrong.

                        Feefo:
                        • Is managed directly through actinic (single point of contact)
                        • Can review both service as well as product
                        • Feedback can be requested in an email which is sent a defined ammount of days after there order
                        • Can back date all orders 3 months so we can start getting reviews instantly
                        • Only customers may review a product or service
                        • Merchant can respond to any feedback given
                        • Can recieve emails when negative feedback is placed
                        • Includes in-line seo (ratings on search pages)
                        • Simple installation and intergration
                        • Requires upgrading websites to v11
                        • 2000 edition - £30 setup fee - £80 a month - allows up to 2,000 orders (if we are at 1,400 orders across all websites will not be £80 per website) - http://www.actinic.co.uk/ecommerce-s...d-pricing.html
                        • Reviews sit on feefo's website (however a few examples show it sitting on the merchants website such as the ctshirts.co.uk)
                        • Uses a percentage rating over a star rating
                        • Does not include multi-site
                        • Does not allow moderation (however reviews can be requested for removal)
                        • Is fully intergrated with actinic
                        • Have offered us a 3 month free trial

                          Simon,

Not sure if it's fair to post comparisons with competitor's products on the Actinic forum, and strictly this breaks forum rules but anyway ....

                          On the Feefo side:

                          - reviews can be shown on the merchant's site page with some changes a merchant can make (using an iFrame, we are likely to make this a point and click feature in the future)

                          - Feefo is fully integrated in Actinic v10 and v11. You could integrate with earlier versions of Actinic (several people did) for the same effort as with other solutions

                          - Feefo is approved by Google as a review system

                          - Feefo can use the star rating system with some changes a merchant can make (we are likely to make this a point and click feature in the future)

                          - You will probably get 10x the reviews using Feefo, depending on how the competitive product garners reviews. Feefo is the most efficient system at getting reviews, bar none.

                          - Feefo is rapidly gaining market share in the UK and abroad, with a number of very well known UK brands in the pipeline, exceeding the star power of the existing roster that includes Fat Face, Jack Wills, Lands End etc

                          Chris

                            Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reply, I can take it down if you like. I would defiantly highlight being able to embed feefo as a feature as this was a big concern of ours. Would also add the star ratings as a feature and also didn't know about being able to install on previous versions. Anyway we are going to run soapbox on our website to see what kind of negative reviews people might leave and identify which product sectors are getting the most worst feedback after testing we will most likely roll with feefo, thanks for the help.

We have had Soapbox on the Grand Illusions web site for a couple of years now. It is extremely good value, as it is a one-off payment. However as it is optional I do not find that we get very many reviews. In fact hardly any over the last 6 months. And those that we do get are often a bit random, eg from someone who is not a customer.

I am wondering whether to go down the road with FeeFo, since I can see that actual customers who receive an e-mail after buying something are much more likely to give feedback.

The stars only appear on the Google search within the adwords, not the normal organic listing, which is disappointing.
