    Email Confirmation of Dispatch

Maybe I have missed something but I need to send an email when an order has been dispatched so that the customer knows it has been sent. This facility is now standard with Ebay, Amazon etc and customers do expect, quite rightly to receive such information.

Can this be done in Actinic Business Plus in a straightforward way?

You can open and order, select a despatched email and send it to the customer. You can design the despatched email yourself.

If you want to deal with orders in batch you could use the complete order option to batch email customers. You can choose what functions complete performs in business settings.

You can't include an html tracking link though.

      Thanks Jan

When you say a tracking link cannot be included, is that because the email has to be text only?

        Hi John,

That's right, you can include a link in the text but the user will not be able to click on it.

          Interesting.

In that case I will look at sending the email from Sage which can include the waybill number etc

          Many thanks

            We use Actinic for it

Hello John. We send out "order shipped" emails using Actinic. We have a paragraph programmed into a Function Key (we use My Function Keys free download), which gives, amongst other things, the web address of the carrier and the start of the consignment number. With the email open, we insert the paragraph using the function key, and complete the consignment number, and send. We use the function keys rather than editing the email at source, as that way we can use a different function key for different carriers. We find this all quite quick to do. We also imput the carrier web address and consignment number into the Progress tab so that registered customers can see it when they login. Though the web address is not clickable, it is easy enough for somebody to copy it into a browser, or even type it.

Mole End I believe do some software that may help but at present we are using this semi-manual way and it appears to be working fine.

            Sarah
