My experience of Actinic is limited, having only used V7 to modify a few areas of an existing site. I have been playing around with the V8 Beta, my main intention being to create a completely new design in Dreamweaver. So far so good but there are a couple of things I need help with.
1. I want to customise the shopping cart summary. I've figured out how to change font size, colour etc but how do I change the background colour? I have managed to create a new layout from within Design/Library/Layout but how do I select that layout as the one to use with my design?
2. I want to be able to create a text only navigation links area for the shop pages. I can see that this can be done from within Actinic but can I modify the appearance further by attributing a style sheet class to the links and control the appearance from the CSS file? (I have seen the post about CSS and Dreamweaver so there's no need for anyone to go over that part again unless anything has changed since the last post.)
My first (second and third) impressions of V7 as a non-Actinic user were that it seemed incredibly complex and not user-friendly for Dreamweaver types. V8 seems to address a lot of those concerns but in order to be totally convinced I need to know for sure that I will be able to customise every part of the site and integrate it into my own design.
I've read the quick start guide and the new features PDF but I'm still struggling with some of these bits. Unfortunately there are only a couple of pages dedicated to designing and customising in Dreamweaver. All help much appreciated.
