    Name and Address not verified

I empathise, its ridiculous, I have the same problem and have even paid for a SSL from Actinic. This was a waste of money because, it is only the card details which sent securely but nothing else. I can use a credit card and imput the wrong details and still get charged, because PayPal cant check it.

If you look in business settings 'credit card details captured for later payment', and configure, you can see the list of items it asks for and what also should be here is address, name on card etc.

Is it more complicated than that?

If in the new year PayPal Pro will cost £20 a month and you have to pay for a SSL I may as well use another PSP.

        PayPal Pro

I've recently changed my payments from standard paypal to paypal pro.

I have changed the script for the shipping as suggested as I had one customer who didn't get charged shipping before I realised there was a problem.

I thought that it was possible to set PayPal to check the address before accepting a payment: http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=33263
I e-mailed PayPal business support last week and asked for transactions to be declined unless the address details match.

So far...(touch wood) PayPal Pro seems to be working fine for me.

I said that when Paypalpro was first released - its a complete waste of time as far as actinic goes. I would NEVER fit it to a site.

              Hi Everyone,

The address details not being passed to PayPal is a known issue and has been fixed in 8.5.2 which should be put shortly, once testing has been completed.

              Kind regards,

Paypal Pro and overseas shipping charges

                  Hi All

Another on this matter of passing info to paypal.

I set up PPPro on my site, but when people paid using the PP Express button to pay by their PP account, the shipping charges were not being sent to paypal and I was having to embarrassingly go back to customers and ask for the difference, which is not professional. It took Actinic 5 months and several people to get the Paypal Express part of PPP working on my site, but it only works for UK shipping charges.

I have a gift site with a giftwrap service, so customers usually ship direct to the recipient. I have customers who live overseas and want to ship to their families in the UK and it works fine for that. However, if they want to ship to Rep of Ireland (classed as overseas), the shipping charges sent to paypal default to UK charges. In the future I may also have customers in UK who want to ship to Europe etc and worry that this will not work either.

Now I'm trying not to be negative about this, but I have been caught between Actinic and Paypal both blaming the other and finally got depressed and gave up on it, only to be told today by someone else at Paypal that they are all wrong and of course it can be done, that's what paypal is all about and the problem is in the set up/development of the website.

Paypal process the total that we send them, so why can we not send them the total when shipping is to another country? I am not asking for the delivery address or anything to be input on the paypal site, as I have gathered this information on the product page using a multi info form.

Can anyone help on this pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaassssssssseeeeeeee?

                    Hi,

The shipping cost is determined by the 'Postal Address' as set in Paypal. There is an option to add a new address to the Paypal account, however, it doesn't let you choose any other country (other than the country that the account has been created in). I have tested this out and it confirms what Paypal have actually told us:

that the gift address must be in the same country that the PayPal account is registered in. It is not possible to add a gift address from another
                    country.
If you have been told by Paypal that it is possible maybe you could find out how to set up an address to a different country within the account and we could then try to do something about it.

Does anyone know if the issue of the customer address details being passed to Paypal has been resolved yet?

                        Hi

I've not found a solution since my post, I'm afraid. It's yet another item on my unresolved list!

                        Sorry, unless anyone else has??

                          Developments

The only development I've noticed on this since I made my original comment is that the email is now being passed over to PayPal.

                          The rest is the same.

I have done a quick test however and noticed that in PayPal Manager (which comes with PayPal Pro) the address details are in there (along with disguised credit card details). This makes it even stranger! The address details are in PayPal Manager, but they aren't passed to PayPal itself for use, say, in the packing slip. I assume this is a PayPal issue, rather than an Actinic issue.

As it is, I have enough ways of dealing with issues now that I'm getting along. Fortunately, my turnover is not so high that these issues give me problems.
                          Kind regards,
                          Phil Benjamin

                            I have this issue.

The paypal manager interface displays the customer details including the address, however the general paypal interface on paypal.co.uk shows no address and so displays the message

                            "
                            No Address Provided

Payments without a postal address are not covered by PayPal's seller protection policies and programs."

Any ideas yet?? v 8.5.3.0.0.0 IDHB

I emailed Actinic tech support about this and got the following reply on June 11th:

Regarding the issue with the address details not be passed to Paypal according to my knowledge it was fixed in 8.5.2 but from the thread I can still see many people saying it’s still a problem. So I’ll refer it back to development and see what they have to say. Will keep you posted.
