Everything appears to be working OK on the site you have given.

Try compacting the databases in Housekeeping-Compact Databases and see if this helps clear the errors.

          I can see the error
Error: Error opening ../acatalog/86Z143Z189Z109A1159465218B3124.session (Permission denied)
Compact the database and do a refresh rather than an update.

Do you have ftp access to your site - if so then wipe the server. If not then call Actinic and get them to help.

OK Figured it out a Complete Package EASY

IIS 5.1 did not like Actinic after several hours trying to get actinic to work I finally shut down IIS 5.1.

I did research and found the perl version of apache tom cat web server.
                    The Package is called IndigoPerl.
It has the package includes Apache and Perl.
                    Easy Setup

                      message for ruralweb

hi i just read your reply to mark, a college of mine. i have made the folowing post.

I have recently tried to update my site but kept on getting the error message: actinic can not update due to a merge problem - refresh the site!
iI then tried to refresh the site but recieved the following message:

an error occured while merging files on the remote site. The web site index has been corrupted. Catalouge is unable to update the index. Copy ../acatalog/fulltext.fil to ../acatalog/oldtext.fil failed. No such directory. Please refresh the site.

I then tried to purge and refresh the site and got the same error message.

a college posted this information on this forum and was advised to delete the actinic folder from hte ftp location and to delete the files from the cgi bin.

I deleted the actinic folder and deleted all the files from the cgi bin and tried to refresh the site but recieved the same error message. I have now noticed that the purge and refresh button in the troubleshooting section is now grey and can not be activated.

a suggestion was made to clear the server via FTP what exactly does this mean? Please advise!

You use a FTP program to log into your web server and then delete all the files in the acatalog folder

This means you have a clean server to start again with

Just to help out anyone else searching for this error.

This problem was sorted for me by going into Advanced Network Setup - (accessed through Web|Network Setup) and unchecking the 'Use Enhanced FTP' option.
