Back in post #12 you mentioned a web designer. Is this somebody who has taken your money to work on your Actinic site for you? If yes, they should as part of a standard service, do the configuration and first upload for you. Is there a reason why they are not doing this for you?

If you want, you can send me a private mail (click my name on the left of this post and use the send email option) with the web address, ftp username and password, and I will set this up, upload a standard actinic site, save the settings in a text file and send them to you for import.

I will then post the solution here for other user's benefit.

The error is at the webserver end. Perl is not installed correctly for use with an Actinic site.
The web server returned error code 405 - Server does not support the requested method. Your web server is not configured to accept POSTs to CGI scripts. Contact your ISP or system administrator and have them reconfigure the server.
Your host needs to configure Perl to accept GET, POST, HEAD requests.

I have uploaded a "Coming soon" message on the URL using standard FTP\, just to ensure I was pointing at the correct place, and subsequently uploaded a standard site to yourdomain/acatalog/index.html

Network settings exported to a text file and emailed to you. Please save the email attachment to your desktop, then go to Web | Network Setup and click the Import button. Navigate to the desktop and select the saved file.

Once the host resolves the Perl problem, you should have no problem uploading with these settings.

Jumping in having just read the last few entries

            Is this a fasthost server?

If so on the fasthost control panel you can turn on / off the pearl scripts, on setup with the linux server it is by default turned off

Enclosed my fasthosts linux setup details

              Bill,

Thanks for your help so far, you have been a true superstar!!!

I have now had two days to hastle having to wait for FastHosts and their reseller to make several mistakes but, hey, they have finally got it right.

              I thing?

I am now at the last stage of the set-up screen, having run the test successfully, I am asked to enter my email server/logon details. I then get an error message stating 'An error occured sending an http request to the web server'. The message then advises the network of web server may be down.

I have been able to access my website via my ftp program and IE, as well as receive emails. I have tried several times and get the same error message.

Please can someone advise what may be causing this problem.

              My setting details are attached.

              Regards,

Sorry, but nothing appears to have changed - they are still not accepting a POST to perl.
