    quickbooks merchant service

In reviewing the payment and security section of actinic business I do not see an option to use quickbooks merchant services for credit card processing. Can someone confirm were I find more information on setting that up. I browsed through the user guides to no avail.

    Thanks,

    Gary

    Hi there

We do not have any integration with QuickBooks Merchant Services for taking and processing payment.

There is an integration with 'QBPOS' available in the US. Is this what you are interested in?

No, we were told by the person in NJ and Intuit that the cart with compatible with Quickbooks Merchant Services.

In just reviewing, its also on the Intuit marketplace which is how I found your company to begin with.

      See link http://marketplace.intuit.com/AppCar...=407&CatID=277

Gary - looking at http://www.quickbooksmerchantservice...ount_services/ it looks like QuickBooks Merchant Services are available with the Quickbooks Point of Sale solution (QBPOS) - and it is this QBPOS application that can share data with your Actinc Solution.

We were told we needed the qb merchant account for web to use with actinic. Are you saying that the credit cards have to be run thru the qb pos via the pos link?

If you want to use QuickBooks Merchant services, you need to use QBPOS. If you want to use WorldPay, Authorise.Net, PayPal etc. (i.e. the Payment Service Providers built into Actinic) you don't need to use QBPOS.

            Hope that's cool.

              Update and corrected information

              Gary,
Yes you can use QuickBooks Merchant services merchant account for processing credit cards using Actinic Business and Quickbbooks Financials or Actinic Business, Actinic Links for point of sale and QuickBooks Point of Sale. I am the "some one in New Jersey" who told you this. If you would like to test the QuickBooks Merchant account You will need to get the PSP installer exectutable. Once installed a new "QBMS" payment method is added in the Payment provider drop down list in Actinic. You will need to add your Merchant account details and configure the Security.

Contact me directly for assistance on this implementation

                Hi,

I also want to use Merchant Services. Where can I get the program to use it with Actinic Business? Thank you!

Brian, couple of questions for you...
Will this work with Actinic 7 and QB Enterprise 7.0?

I have signed up for Billings Solution so I can email invoices to customers. This is convenient when a customer wants to add to an order. However, I just found out that you can't refund (short stock) without the credit card number. This is really lousy. Will this hold true for the QB merchants services if I convert from authorize.net to QB Merchant Services? If I have to call the customer for a card number each time I need to refund, this isn't a workable solution for me.

Grant Graphics, I sent you an e-mail response. Please contact Brian Johnson directly and we will arrange your QuickBooks Merchant Services installation.

Pat, I read your post and have struggled to give a proper answer. I guess the correct answer is I dont know the answer. Will QBMS work with Actinic 7 and Enterprise, YES.
Your issue with refunds? I think the correct answer is that you can refund a transaction based on the Transaction ID and Authorization code, you do not need the credit card (AFAIK) As Far as I Know. Now Authorize.net and QBMS offer a web based control panel where you can access your account , look up transactions and a virtual terminal to complete refunds. I hope this is the answer your looking for.

I should like to mention that you could implement inventory management controls using Actinic Business | QuickBooks enterprise and the Mole-end automation tool which is set up properly would prevent consumers from purchasing products which you do not have in stock to sell. This would solve the issue entirely and would work for most merchants. :-)

Brian, I do have inventory management implemented, and I set the max qty allowed to order equal to the amount on hand (using Mole End softwware). However, I sell individual sheets of paper. It is way too easy to pull two by mistake, or for the manufacturer to send a pack of 49 instead of 50, leaving me short a sheet when I get to the end. I don't allow a customer to order more than we "think" we have on hand. But the reality is that what is physically on hand does not always match our books.

Just fyi - I was told by the Intuit folks that if you have to issue a refund, you will not be able to do it without the credit card number. I use authorize.net right now. If a customer returns something, I can issue a refund without having the card number. But this won't be possible with the Quickbooks Merchant Solution. Although I'm not 100% the person really knew this answer. But that is what I was told.

Do you need to run Actinic Business in order to take advantage of using QBMS or can you use it with Catalog?

I have an account with QBMS in the U.S. and I'm having a problem with the page link within Catalog accessing the correct QBMS link.

It seems to be pointing to https://secure.actinicsecure.com/cgi-bin/is_qbms.pl instead of the correct https://transactions.innovativegatew...ateway.aai.Aai link.

Appreciate the feedback in advance! (-:
