    Catalogue Request Button

I would like to give out customers the option to request a printed copy of our catalogue to be included with their order when checking out.

This is a no-cost item so I'm guessing a simple tick-box would be OK. However, I need it to appear within the sales lines of the order.

Is anyone doing something similar and, if so, could you tell me how you achieved it?

Add it as a product, ensure that there is no cost applied and that it has a weight of 0kg and that 0.00kg has £0.00 shipping cost in the shipping tables.

It will be added as a product, will show in the cart, but will not incur any purchase or shipping costs. Duplicate the product in sections where you feel it will highlight it's availability.

      Many thanks for the info.

I did think about adding it to each section; however we have hundreds of sections so I'm trying to figure out a way of asking the customer on checkout if they would like a catalogue.

The nearest I've got is to modify the Privacy Check Box to read "Do you want a catalogue included", but it's easy to miss on their order.

The simple answer is to include the catalog with all orders. I would imagine that you would have the same response to the catalog whether they ask for it or otherwise - in fact I would think that many would not bother to ask for it but would still page through it if it came in their delivery.

You could use one of the general questions available in the checkout to say, would you like a catalog, maybe change the input box to a checkbox or a drop down list. You can enable these in design text.

Sorry to repeat a reply but I would simply add it to every order shipped.

This works extremely well currently for clients and couple this with personal time limited offers you could be on a winner.

              Thanks for the info guys.

In our last cart, we had an option for a catalogue request and we found that several thousand of our "one-off" customers didn't request one. We also received complaints from a few of our regulars about multiple copies (i.e. three copies a week).

As a result over the last few years we have developed a system that mails out a new copy each year to the regulars and supply on request the non-regulars.

The catalogue is a high-quality expensive job so we try to target it as accurately as possible.
