Hi everyone.
In brief: After taking advice on the forum I'm setting up Paypal as my PSP. Functionally it seems to work well; the only downside is the wording and look of the 'handover page' to paypal which might put-off customers. I think this can easily be improved but need a little help.
I've put more info below, but basically I'd like to change the text and button on the handover page, and can't find where to do that. Can someone tell me where I can find the text and button?
The text currently reads "Click the paypal button to go to Paypals secure server and process your payment". The button says "Paypal Buy Now"
I'd like to change the text to read something like:
"Click the button to pay securely with your credit or debit card".
I'd design a button that reads "Go to secure payment area"
I'd add a 2nd line that reads:
"We use Paypal's merchant service to process your credit / debit card payment. If you prefer, you can choose to pay using your paypal account, but don't feel under any pressure to"
In more detail:
I'm using paypal for its ability with credit cards not because I want users to use their paypal account - obviously paypal would prefer it the other way around as they make more money that way.
I fear users will think they need a paypal account because the current handover page mentions paypal and has the paypal logo. Most people who have heard of paypal have done so from ebay and know if often means having a 2nd balance in there.
The landing page into Paypal pushes users to use their payment account. (You have to scroll down on some screen resolutions to see that there is a choice to pay by credit card). If I (we!) haven't warned them of this trick, I fear we will loose sales at this point.
Once you've chosen the credit/debit card option, the next page still gives you the chance to use your paypal account. I wonder if it would be better / possible to 'land' on that second page rather than the first.
I'm assuming paypal would prefer paypal to paypal transactions as they make their 3% and keep it all. If its a Visa to payapl transaction, they will have to give visa their 'cut'
Thanks for any help
