I can see the option but it's greyed out.
Do you have this in the extension manager:

        for now

i would like this to function properly, but for now has any one posted a decent work around for editing both the template eg:broucher and the style sheet open together in dw.

really starting to pull my hair out now

opened a new css temp in dw, saved it to site1, regestered with actinic, imported origonal actinic css, saved file.
dw will only give me the option to make a new class in theme.css or new style sheet, no sign of the style sheet i just created even though im in it..
this is i real pain with dw, think it is what it is and not meant for editing out of actinic, not much cop for less experienced coders...

I do - I would unistal V8 completely and download it again.

              just tried it malcom

exactly the same result, i removed every trace of v8, then removed the extension from dw ex manager, downloaded re installed exactly the same.

im using dw8 thats ok isnt it..

I use MX but 8 should be ok. Very odd problem - do you have another PC that you could try it all on?

                  afraid not

although if every one else is ok and actinic have not modified the download file today then my set up must conflict in some way..

                    ok side step

when i have the actinic style sheet open in design view i can click edit in dw,
                    opens fine.
but when i try and add a new class with dw, dw will only give me the option to add the class to a new style sheet and not the one im in, the actinic one.
what use is this, why would you take the style sheet to dw if you did not need dw's help to add classes..

ok i see when you click to edit in dw it does not actually open the master file but a copy so without the option to re-import "which i dont have" its useless

                      Hi there

Right - let's see if we can get this Dreamweaver extension working for you. The problem is that you still have the wrong version of the extension installed. I have attached the correct version to this post. Please do the following:
                      1. Close Dreamweaver
                      2. Go to the 'Macromedia' group on your 'Start' menu and open the 'Macromedia Extension Manager'
                      3. Select 'Dreamweaver' from the drop down list at the top
                      4. Remove all Actinic extensions you have got currently installed with the dustbin icon.
                      5. Close the extension manager
                      6. Download and unzip the attached extension.
                      7. Double-click on it to install the extension.
                      8. Restart Dreamweaver and check that everything is added OK.

but for now has any one posted a decent work around for editing both the template eg:broucher and the style sheet open together in dw.
I would suggest you do the same thing I do, which is to leave the Actinic Stylesheet well alone (unless you want to edit stuff within that) and create a new *.css file within your site folder (usually Site1). You can then include a link to your custom *.css file in each outer layout you are using within Actinic.
                      Code:
                      <link href="styles.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
Just make sure tis line goes AFTER the line about 'actinic.css'.
when i have the actinic style sheet open in design view i can click edit in dw,
                      opens fine.
but when i try and add a new class with dw, dw will only give me the option to add the class to a new style sheet and not the one im in, the actinic one.
what use is this, why would you take the style sheet to dw if you did not need dw's help to add classes..
This will be dealt with my suggested method.

I updated with Advanced User Guide yesterday with lots of tips on using CSS with Actinic. It might be worth downloading v1.4. and checking it out.

                        thanks for your help chris

i followed your instructions to the letter, and the result is exactly the same as abouve.

duncan posted a screen shot of his dw extension manager aswell and i still dont see the extra plug in in my manager just the same as my screen shot abouve.

                          to recap

                          my origonal problem:
i found in the help files this info....atachment 1

i do not have the option in the dw drop down: "submit changes to actinic" its not there not even grayed out.

my plug in is installed see screenshot 2..

im i supposed to have the option in dw dropdown "submit changes to actinic" or is this just not sorted yet.

chris you said the problem was the extension, but i removed it and instaled the one you attached to no avail. is the reduced functunality of my plug in found in older versions of the file..?
because it functions as it should in all other ways, can register new design ok, and edit a file in dw from one click in the actinic design view, opens a newly created temp file for editing, and i expect if i had the missing option in the dw dropdown it would overwrite the edited temp file back to the template in actinic...i just cant save it back to actinic..because of missing "submit changes to actinic" option in the drop down

NIGHTMARE Simbo -- Only two sugestions I have left are:

                            . Clean registry
                            . Re-install DW

Maybe cleaning the regisrty may not do much...

Go for the un-install and re-install option, then re-install Actinic 8.5
