    Paul,

You need to be on v8.5.0 and above for this option to appear, you will find it at the bottom of the Layout code window on the 'Design' Tab.

    Kind regards,

Are you using CS3? If you are you will not have this option available at the monent. As mentioned in another post, it appears that if you have DW8 still on your PC then this button will work.

This will be fixed in a maintenance release.

        Kind regards,

              Purchasing Dreamweaver

Has anyone tried purchasing Dreamweaver CS3 from a download only supplier on the cheap instead of buying it outright at full retail version?

That will be a cracked version. The only legit ones are at the normal price.

                  Adobe - play fair please!

I was just looking into buying DW DS3 and discovered that there is a huge customer backlash against Adobe because they have priced the UK version (and other non-US versions) at MUCH higher prices. There is an online petition to ask the EC to look into the 'unfair' pricing. We pay approx 200% more than US customers.

                  http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/...-software.html

Adobe say that the higher prices are due to the extra costs of selling in the UK but the higher price applies even if you download it. I think you could download a legitimate USA version but that you would not be entitled to any customer support.

Anyhow, I digress. Do users of the Dreamweaver - Actinic interface recommend it? Does it simplify things?

Depends on the way you do your development, manty people work differently. I do my base outer layouts in DW, but that's all, I don't modify the other 'sub' layouts in DW I generally just do that by hand in Actinic perhaps with snippits from DW.

Developing in DW is very good (although hard to justify the cost) - hence it's popularity. Being able to automatically have the Actinic 'base' components added into your DW design when you register it is probably the biggest boon IMO.

                      Hey Leeski

Just a quick note (not forgot the report matey) Have to say just one thing

                      MAGIC!!!!

The spry library, Developer Toolbox add-on and the much improved css coding aspect make this perfecto (until cs4 )

As part of the ACS3 WEB PREM it was money well spent (workflow is massively improved and cross project integration is a god-send). As a standalone product, well worth it.

There is an upgrade path available if you possess any adobe CS2 product (called the Upsell) and will save you £300 min. (order over the dog direct).

                      In short....marvellous!!!

They have even removed 95% of depreciated code and functions

Cheers DJ, appreciate it. I love the CSS in DW8, so would love to see what else we've now got. I'll get my hand in my pocket when it's confirmed as working OK with actinic, until then i do not need any headaches. Do you have to upgrade or standalone, so you can run both versions?

Please tell me it keeps all current site definitions and they work fine, having trawled through these recently when my system wents tits up, there is absolutely no chance i am doing it again.

                          You can either

                          a) order a trial disc (£7.00) for Web premium and when you are ready to rock just slot in the serial code

                          b) download a 30 day trial from adobe for DWCS3 and do the same.

We have the Web Premium (used the upsell with PSCS2)

Yup, all original site definitions are retained mate

No problems this end with it mate.

I think what may have muddied the waters was the change to the Extension manager. It is now an integrated manager for all CS3 so reinstall with DWSC3and ENABLE your previously installed exts is all that was needed here.
