Sorry if this is covering old ground. I've done a search with no luck.
I'm pretty dim when it comes to software and have just been playing with Access where I have found you can edit products and the results are transferred to the site. This is a big thing for us as we often have multiple duplicates as products often fit in several sections. When a product sells out it's easy to sometimes leave a duplicate on the site.
So, I did a search in access for a unique product number and it came up with the product and all duplicates! I was able to quickly mark them all hidden with the HTML tickbox and the next time I opened actinic they werw indeed hidden.
I can just hear the old timers here whispering 'FFS' under their breath but this is a breakthrough for me.
So, my question is:- Is it OK to edit products in this way or will I corrupt the whole site leading to my ultimate downfall and descent into a world of filth and disharmony?
