I have looked at every detail of the product and can not see anything that is wrong with it
Ive found some product references have changed during upgrade causing Actinic to become confused.

      Malcolm,

Having read many of your other posts regarding V8 have you thought of giving up your current job and going in to Beta testing

Many thanks for your help, even on the threads that I haven't participated in but have learnt from.
      Regards

Ive not thought of going into beta testing to be honest but I quite often think I should go back to teaching paragliding - at least there if I crash I know exactly what caused it

How big is your ActinicCatalog.mdb file - I recall that you have quite a lot of customer accounts in your database and Actinic runs some pretty hefty account validation processing before uploading. Access creates temporary tables for big SQL queries so it's possible that if your database is quite large (over 1GB) that creation of these temporary tables is pushing it over the maximum size and so causing the crash.

Compact the database, check the size, run the upload and then check the size again, if this is what is happening it will be much larger after the crash.

            Regards,

              Thanks for the suggestions Jan.

We've abandoned use of customer accounts in Actinic - the functionality just isnt up to what we need.

Database size is 90MB - before and after upgrade, and before/after compacting. We compact the database every day

                Jim & Jason,

Can you please send me the snapshots for the sites that are causing this issue if you have not raised the issue with Support as yet. My email address is bksupport / at / actinic / co / uk. If the snapshot is above 10 MB please upload it to your server, else drop me a mail and I can send you some ftp settings to upload to.

                Kind regards,

Have you deleted them from the catalog?

no - they are still in there; about 300-400 of them, with about 2k orders allocated to them. Not touched for at least a year.

Unfortunately you cant delete the customer accounts without deleting the order history (which we need)

Imho Jim is one of the most respected members on here so thats saying something.

The stability of v7 is one of the main reasons people don't want to upgrade. I've uploaded a couple of v8 test sites and I've had more broken uploads the last week or so than in the last 18 months with v7.

Also agree with the cost of m-u cover.

Have you switched off enable login on business settings, that might get around the problem you are having.

Ive had a look at jims snapshot and there are some duplicate image names in there which are stopping the upload - he is working on them now.

Good work Mal, hopefully that will solve the problem.

The word `duplicate` is quite prominent in the v8 forum isn't it?

Indeed, the duplicating problems seems to be duplicating itself all over the duplicating place.
